One of the major milestones in STEF92's transition from specialised geological and engineering software toward large-scale information infrastructure.

Context

Geological information exists across maps, spatial datasets, technical documentation and structured records. Building a national digital environment requires these different information types to be organised and made accessible as a coherent system.

What STEF92 built

An integrated national geological information environment bringing together geological, spatial and documentary information within a structured digital system.

Significance

The project brought together professional geological knowledge, spatial information, databases and specialised software at national information-system scale.
