STEF92 Technology begins.

Founded in 1992, STEF92 developed in professional environments where engineering knowledge, technical information and specialised tools had to work closely together.

Working where information was complex long before “data” became a business category.

STEF92's early and subsequent engineering work extended across geology, geodesy, hydrogeology, geophysics, mining, geotechnics, geodynamics and environmental disciplines.

These fields required the management of large volumes of spatial, geological and technical information — creating a natural need for specialised digital tools.

Building the tools the work required.

STEF92 developed specialised CAD, GIS, geological and surveying systems, spatial-data tools, engineering calculations and database-connected applications for demanding professional environments.

Across successive generations, STEF92 developed its own CAD/GIS and engineering technology.

When existing tools were not sufficient for specific professional problems, STEF92 began building its own.

Software increasingly became information infrastructure.

CAD and engineering applications naturally expanded into databases, client-server systems, GIS environments and integrated information platforms.

From specialised systems to national information infrastructure.

STEF92 Technology became the lead developer and principal contractor for the National Geological Server of Bulgaria — an important milestone in the company's evolution from specialised engineering software toward integrated geological and spatial information environments.

The project brought together experience in geology, databases, GIS and digital information management at national scale.

Scientific events became a new long-term field.

Since 2001, STEF92 has been a principal organiser of international scientific events.

This introduced a new combination of requirements: international participants, scientific submissions, peer review, programme development, event operations, publishing and long-term knowledge management.

Scientific events created another permanent capability: publishing.

Research presented at international scientific events had to move through review, editorial production, publication, metadata and long-term digital access.

Over time, STEF92 developed extensive publishing-production and scientific-information capabilities around this lifecycle.

The technology supporting SGEM and later SWS evolved across more than two decades, from early event-management systems to the current SWS digital environment.

Individual applications became connected platforms.

Database systems, web platforms, APIs, online services, hosting and automation extended STEF92's work into increasingly connected digital environments.

Technology and scientific work increasingly became international cooperation.

STEF92's long-term involvement in international science and multidisciplinary projects expanded naturally into professional training, Erasmus+ hosting, international mobility, knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation.

STEF92 Technology works in established partnership with the Academy of SGEM World Science (SWS) Scholarly Society in Vienna.

More than thirty years later, the fields are broader. The principle is the same.

Today STEF92 Technology brings together capabilities that grew over decades of practical work across technology, publishing, science and international projects.

The disciplines changed. The working principle did not.

Whether the challenge involved an engineering model, specialised software, a national information environment, a scientific conference or a publishing workflow, the approach remained consistent: understand the domain, organise the information, build the system and support it in real operation.
